    Job Description:

    Beaver Creek Golf Club is seeking a dedicated and skilled Irrigation Technician to join our team. As an Irrigation Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and functionality of our golf course irrigation system.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform regular inspections and maintenance of irrigation equipment, including sprinklers, pipes, valves, and controllers.
    • Manual water distribution when needed
    • Troubleshoot and repair any issues with the irrigation system to ensure optimal performance.
    • Monitor water usage and make necessary adjustments while ensuring proper coverage.
    • Collaborate with the grounds maintenance team to coordinate irrigation
    • schedules.
    • Assist in the installation of new irrigation components and systems as needed.
    • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and irrigation system performance.

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience as an Irrigation Technician or similar role, preferably in a golf course setting.
    • Startup and winterization of irrigation system.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing irrigation systems
    • Knowledge of irrigation principles, equipment, and components.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

    DescriptionCarroll National Golf, formerly known as Carroll Country Club, is an 18 hole private golf course located in Carroll, Iowa searching for a full time assistant superintendent. 

    DutiesThis position will assist the superintendent with duties including, but not limited to: chemical/fertilizer application, equipment maintenance, irrigation maintenance, and grounds crew supervision. 

    QualificationsPrevious supervisory experience is preferred, otherwise a minimum of a turfgrass maintenance certificate with 2+ years serving on a grounds crew. Must have pesticide applicator license or the ability to obtain one within 3 months. Have the ability to work in all weather conditions, and ability to withstand physical labor. Ability to work holidays and weekends and longer hours during the week as needed. 

    Salary: Pay is $40,000/year with 401k plan matched up to 3%.

    The Silo Club is looking for an Assistant Superintendent to join the team as we are set to begin operation on the new course construction. The Silo Club is a new 9-hole course in Nevada, Iowa 15 miles east of Ames. Our number 1 goal at Silo Club is to be the “best 9 hole course” in America and will cater to a private, national, limited membership. The 2025 season will be entirely focused on the course construction. The course will consist of bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways, with bluegrass rough, fescue on the outer edges and wildflower & native grasses waste areas. The Silo Club sits on the site of the old Indian Creek Club, but everything is being built from scratch. A new maintenance shop is just finishing up to house a new fleet of Toro equipment, a new clubhouse is in construction, and a new Toro irrigation and pump house will begin early this summer. The Silo Club will have the highest of standards in course conditions.

    This Assistant Superintendent will be an integral part of the course construction, and will be deeply involved in all phases including but not limited to, quality control of construction, grow-in, fertilization, mowing, irrigation audits and adjustments, and overall quality control. The maintenance department will be responsible for overseeing the construction and irrigation installation, and will take sole responsibility from the final grading on. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Head Superintendent to build a staff throughout the year and into next spring. The assistant will be a hands-on leader, responsible for leading, directing, overseeing, assisting, training, and coaching the staff.

    DESCRIPTION:  The Hamilton County Conservation Board is seeking a qualified applicant for a full-time Assistant Golf Course Superintendent position to be located at Briggs Woods Golf Course, Webster City, Iowa. 

    DUTIES:  Under the supervision of the Golf  Operations Superintendent, this position will supervise and participate in the ongoing maintenance and improvement of an 18-hole public golf course.  This position will perform a variety of tasks involving public engagement programming along with maintenance of course facilities, equipment, and chemical applications.  Performs related work as a team player, including helping other internal departments with Hamilton County Conservation.

    QUALIFICATIONS:   Graduation from an accredited college with a degree in turf management, business administration management and customer service related to the field. Previous supervisory training and experience is preferred. Must have pesticide applicators license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. Have the ability to work under all types of weather conditions and withstand physical work. Have the ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, balance, climb and able to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work flexible work days and hours to accommodate work as assigned.

    SALARY:  Starting Salary is $43,000 per year with IPERS and standard county health benefits.  40 hour non-scheduled work week with weekend duties as assigned. Other benefits may apply.

The Des Moines Golf & Country Club was founded in 1897 and has since grown into one of the premier golf and social clubs in the region. The Club was established to provide a private, upscale environment for golf enthusiasts and their families.     The Assistant Superintendent aids the Golf Course Superintendent and the Director of Grounds in the leadership and execution of work schedules, maintenance programs and construction details. This person also helps direct the crew on the 18 holes that they are responsible for.

    Daily Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assists and manages the hiring and training of employees.

    Educational Requirements:

    • General knowledge of irrigation maintenance/repairs.
    • Must demonstrate initiative and moral character.
    • Strong work ethic and personal commitment to improving/maintaining course conditions.

    Special Requirements:

    Must have or be able to obtain a current Iowa Driver's License.
    Must have or be able to obtain a Iowa Pesticide Applicator's Certificate.
