Bear Creek Valley Golf Club, Osage Beach Missouri, is looking for a Head Golf Course Superintendent. This could be a current Superintendent or an assistant wishing to move up. Our current Superintendent plans to retire at the end of the season and would like to work with his replacement to make the transition as smooth as possible.

This is a hands-on position on a par 72 18-hole course with zoysia fairways and L93 bentgrass greens

Responsibilities:

• Maintains all grounds, including the golf course, clubhouse surrounds and other maintainable property.
• Supervise all plantings, fertilizing and chemical applications, and other care of turf, plants, and trees on the golf course and clubhouse surrounds.
• Works closely with, advises, and communicates with the General Manager and Head Golf Professional on any issues related to golf course maintenance.
• Supervises the application of chemicals, fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides.
• Maintains inventory and oversees all repairs and scheduled maintenance of all golf course maintenance equipment.
• Maintenance and operation of drainage, irrigation, and other mechanical watering systems.
• Develops chemical and fertilizing plan on an annual basis.
• Recruits, supervises, motivates, trains, and retains maintenance staff.

Experience:

• 2–4-year Turf/Agronomy/Horticulture Degree (Preferred/Not Required) or 3-5 years as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Working Knowledge of Basic Golf Course Practices including: Course setup, L93 Bentgrass greens, Zoysia fairways, Ornamental trees and shrubs, Irrigation and Drainage control, Pest/Weed and Turfgrass Identification
• Basic mechanical work
• Chemical/Fertilizer Applications
• Possess a Valid Driver’s License
