    POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

    Hamilton County Conservation Board
    Title: Golf Course Clubhouse Manager/Pro

    Status: Exempt

    DESCRIPTION: The Hamilton County Conservation Board is seeking a qualified applicant for a full-time golf course clubhouse manager position to be located at Briggs Woods Golf Course, Webster City, Iowa.

    DUTIES: Under the general supervision of the Executive Director and in relationship of the Golf Course Superintendent, participates in and manages the ordering, purchasing and storage of food and drink for clubhouse customers. Hires, supervises and manages clubhouse staff in providing appropriate services to users of the facilities, such as food preparation and serving. Drink sales along with collection of fees and other normal golf related services. Creates marketing, advertising and promotion of the Briggs Woods Golf Course and Conservation recreation opportunities, offers pro shop sales, lessons and camps. Manages all aspects of tournaments, leagues and outings.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college preferred in business management and or customer service, related to the field. Previous supervisory training and experience is preferred. Have the ability to work under all types of weather conditions and withstand physical work. Have the ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, balance, climb and able to lift up to 50 pounds above the head. Ability to work flexible work days and hours to accommodate work as assigned.

    SALARY: Salary range is $40,000 - $60,000 per year with IPERS and standard county health benefits. Additional income available through camps, lessons and pro shop sales. 40 hour non-scheduled work week with weekend and evening duties. Other benefits may apply.

    MTI Distributing, Inc., a subsidiary of The Toro Company, is the Upper Midwest’s leading supplier of products and services to the green industries. Through a combination of exceptional products and superior service, MTI is in the business of providing landscape beautification solutions to golf courses, schools, municipalities, landscape contractors, and independent dealers. 

    We currently have an opening for an Irrigation Sales Technician.  In this position, you will work directly with golf course customers in Minnesota or Iowa to find appropriate solutions to irrigation problems, recommending irrigation upgrade products and or services which may include delivering and installing the necessary equipment on-site.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     Develop additional revenue over the life of a golf course irrigation system through regular system maintenance practices, diagnose and repair systems, and provide upgrade recommendations.

     Install new or demo product.

     Instruct end users as to use, safety, features, and benefits of the overall operation of equipment.

     Be onsite with golf course irrigation customers daily through the irrigation season to help customers find solutions to irrigation issues and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

     Schedule customer appointments to troubleshoot new or existing irrigation equipment.

     Utilize Salesforce to maintain and update customer information based on activities and interactions as they occur.

     Keep current on the latest golf irrigation products and technology including, Minnesota Power Limited Technician (PLT) certification, and Watertonics PSN pump station certification.

     Assist with customer training at customer’s location or in a classroom setting.

     Assist with winterization service to golf courses and municipalities.

     Maintain vehicle: routine maintenance, safety, and cleanliness.

     Occasional overnight travel.

     Work is exclusively away from the office.

     

    Education and/or Experience

     High School diploma or equivalent.

     2 years of related industry experience and/or sales experience preferred.

     A self-starter, driven, with strong interpersonal skills. 

     Ability to manage workload and excel at prioritizing and organizing tasks.

     Valid/clean driver’s license

     Ability to navigate around local and surrounding states.

     Individual must possess strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

    • QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must live in the territory:  ideally in the Des Moines area.  The territory is Central Iowa.
    • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must enjoy building and cultivating long-term business relationships.
    • Possess strong time management and communication skills.
    • Ability to travel within territory, including occasional overnight travel.
    • ·Possess and maintain valid driver’s license.

    Non-CDL drivers are subject to the DOT medical exam requirement and must have or obtain a valid medical certificate (DOT medical card).
