ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT – SIOUX CITY COUNTRY CLUB

COURSE OPERATION:

18 hole, Private Club est. 1908 10,000 rounds annually
Maintenance budget - $700,000 Automatic irrigation system
Excellent Full-time Staff Greens – bentgrass

Tees – bentgrass Fairways – Poa annua

REQUIREMENTS:

• General business management skills
• Ability to respectfully communicate with grounds staff and management
• Work 40 hours + per week and weekends
• Ability to present him/herself as a professional to members and staff
• 2-4 year degree in a turf related curriculum
• Experience in golf course related operations
• Pesticide Certification or ability to obtain

DUTIES:

• Supervise, organize and direct staff of 12-18 on a daily basis
• Responsible for daily scheduling of routine golf course maintenance operations
• Train staff members on equipment and new tasks
• Follow up on grounds staff job performance
• Supervision of fertilizer & pesticide applications
• Initiate, organize and enforce maintenance programs for the golf course
• Equipment repair and maintenance during the winter
• Oversee maintenance operations during superintendent’s absence

COMPENSATION:

• $55,000/yr. - negotiable
